2023 Toyota bZ4X
A brand-new vehicle for the 2023 model year, the Toyota bZ4X doesn't exactly have a name that rolls off the tongue. Don't let that discourage you from checking out this all-electric vehicle. The automaker had a reason for naming this vehicle the way it did. The "bZ" stands for "beyond zero," which signifies it doesn't have carbon emissions, the "4" signals it's similar in size to the RAV4, and the "X" states it's a crossover SUV. The 2023 bZ4X is the automaker's only available all-electric vehicle and has several appealing qualities to make it worth considering.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
If you're considering the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, it comes in two trims: XLE and Limited. It comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a panoramic glass roof with a power sunshade. Opting for the Limited trim adds 20-inch wheels, upgraded LED headlights, and a hands-free liftgate. The bZ4X is about 3.5 inches longer and 2 inches higher than the RAV4. The Limited trim has the option for a black roof.
Engine (Power)
To help you get where you need to go, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X has two different powertrain configurations depending on whether the vehicle has front- or all-wheel drive. Front-wheel-drive models feature a 150-kW motor that produces 201 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive models include an 80-kW motor on each axle and get 214 horsepower.
Performance
The charging time for the 2023 bZ4X depends mainly on what type of method you use. If you plug the vehicle into a 240-volt outlet or Level 2 public charging station, the vehicle should be fully charged in nine hours. The quicker option is to use a DC Fast-Charging station where Level 3 50kW chargers can reach an 80% charge in about 30 minutes. Also, front-wheel-drive models charge faster than their all-wheel-drive counterparts. Also, the 2023 bZ4X features regenerative braking and several different drive modes. Normal, Eco, Snow, and Boost can help you navigate through different types of terrain.
Interior
Seating five people comfortably, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X has supportive seats and a spacious interior so you can travel for long distances and not feel cramped. It has 38.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 56.1 cubic feet of space when you fold down those seats. Adding optional packages gives you a heated steering wheel as well as foot and leg warmers.
Its infotainment system features a straightforward menu that sits on a 12.3 inch touchscreen display. The vehicle also comes standard with five USB ports, wireless device charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. While the vehicle comes standard with a six-speaker stereo, you can upgrade to receive a premium nine-speaker stereo system.

Safety Features
Toyota doesn't mess around when it comes to safety features, and every 2023 bZ4X is equipped with more than a dozen driver-assisted safety features. You can also add downhill-assist control and a surround-view parking camera system. To keep little ones safe, the vehicle has two complete sets of LATCH connectors found on the rear outboard seats as well as a tether anchor found in the rear middle seat.
