where to find the best thai food in Knoxville, tn

There’s nothing better than Thai food when you want spicy, fresh, bright flavors. The good news is that, here in Knoxville, TN and nearby Alcoa, TN, we now have lots of options for Thai cuisine. As with any type of restaurant, some places are better than others. We’d like to help you find your next favorite by suggesting some of our own.

Where to Find the Best Thai Food Near Knoxville, TN and Alcoa, TN

Thai Cuisine

Find Thai Cuisine at 622 Condry Ln in Maryville. This is the perfect spot for authentic Asian cuisine, with flavors from Thailand, China, and Japan. However Thai is their bread-and-butter and the foundation of their best flavors. The food is very fresh, and you can eat it there (call for reservations) or get take out.

We recommend starting with their Wintershrimp appetizer: marinated shrimp in rice paper, fried to perfection and served with Thai plum sauce. Try their Tom Kha Gai coconut soup with lime, mushroom, and galangal. Then, get their cashew special, which comes with your choice of chicken, pork, beef, tofu, or vegetables. The house special sauce is what really makes it.

Lemon Grass

Also near Alcoa at 912 W Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Lemon Grass is flavorful, authentic, and absolutely delicious. They’ve been around since 2002, and they have a lovely dining room you’ll enjoy spending time in. They offer sushi as well as Thai dishes, and the sushi is great: but the Thai cuisine is some of the best you’ll eat outside Thailand. They also have an extensive gluten-free menu for those with sensitivities.

Try their fresh basil rolls and the delicious beef salad, made with grilled ribeye steak, cucumber, onion, and tomatoes with a Thai chili dressing. Their chicken masaman curry is delightful, and the Som Tam papaya salad is an unusual dish you’ll keep coming back for.

Tuk Tuk Thai

Up in Knoxville proper, at 9253 Kingston Pike, this place offers delicious food, an upscale atmosphere, and service that pleases. This is a wonderful place to take a date or hang out with friends. Their curry offerings are particularly delicious here, but all the food is good.

For an appetizer, we recommend the Thai dumplings or the delicious chicken satay. Then, choose chicken, pork, or tofu and choose a sauce to fry it in: we love the basil sauce, but the Pad See Ew is also great, with the wide rice noodles. One of their house specialties is the Thai Boat Noodle: you have to try it!

Fai Thai Kitchen

If you’re over in East Knoxville, then try this place at 522 S Gay St. They have wonderful service, a great, friendly staff, and fresh food we love. It’s a smaller spot, so get there early. Their commitment here is to ensure consistency in every bite.

if you find yourself at Fai Thai, you want to try their Mama’s Kanom Jeep–delicious steamed dumplings filled with mushrooms, pork, chicken, and shrimp. Then, get the Crying Tiger Beef Salad with the tamarind sauce. Their massaman curry is both gluten-free and vegan, and, of course, they have the best drunken noodles in town.

Once you’ve finished your meal, stop by Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota: a locally owned dealership. Customer service is our priority!
