the top 3 seafood restaurants in alcoa, tn

Knoxville, TN and Alcoa, TN have some great seafood restaurants to choose from. Despite our landlocked location, we’ve got fresh seafood and great local favorites, like trout and catfish. Check out our favorite go-to spots whenever we want surf instead of turf.

Chesapeake’s

There’s a Chesapeake’s downtown and in West Knoxville, and whichever location you visit, you’ll be glad you did. Their food is absolutely the freshest in town, and you can taste it with every plate. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun, and the staff is ready to give you great recommendations for good choices.

We suggest you try the Maryland crab cakes, which are a specialty here, as well as the crab bisque and the swordfish. But other great options to try are the stuffed Maine lobster, the smoked trout, and the oysters Chesapeake. The grilled yellowfin tuna sandwich is great, too. For those who don’t like seafood, there are good steak and chicken options. (You simply have to try the Slower Delaware Pie, by the way).

Storming Crab

If you want a combination of a casual bar atmosphere, a fun crab shack, and a fine dining experience, then this is the place you need to go. The flavors here are primarily Louisiana, but there’s food for everyone. It’s a great place for a casual night out with friends or family.

Create your own combo of seafood like mussels, crabs, shrimp, lobster, and clams. Then add on sides like sausage. potatoes, and corn on the cob. The dinner combos are great: try the crawfish and shrimp or (if you want to splurge) the lobster, crawfish, and clams. They also have fresh raw oysters, great clam strips, and boudin balls. The Po’Boys are on point (try the gator), and the kids’ menu will satisfy your young ones.

The Shrimp Dock

This place has amazing food, friendly service, and one of the biggest selections of fresh seafood anywhere in the area. They specialize in three things: Po’Boys, plates, and seafood boils. The sandwiches come with cocktail and tartar sauce, while the plates come on a bed of lettuce and either grilled, blackened, spiced, or fried according to your tastes. We highly recommend the catfish, the trout, the tilapia, and the cod.

The seafood boils are do-it-yourself. You can get the ingredients and take them home, or they’re loan you a 60 or 80-quart pot and burner so you can hold a boil for all your friends right there. You can feed up to 200 people with these! You get all the basics, like sausage, shrimp, corn, and potatoes, and then you choose to customize with crawfish, mussels, clams, or crab legs (or all of them, if you’re feelin’ fancy).

These are just a few of the great seafood places you’ll find in our area. If you need more recommendations on places to eat or want to look over our great inventory or get the best service in Tennessee for your vehicle, stop by Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota today!
