Why You'll Love the 2018 Toyota Corrolla iM in Alcoa, TNThe Toyota Corolla iM is a new model for 2017 and is a versatile four-door hatchback that comes well equipped, even with its budget-friendly lower-trim level. Here are some reasons to love the Toyota Corolla iM.

The Simplicity

Toyota streamlines the decision-making process with the iM and offers it in just one trim level. The only choice you need to make is whether you want to opt for an automatic or standard six-speed manual transmission. The iM also brings the hatchback model back into Toyota’s Corolla lineup, just a step above the subcompact Yaris.

The Engine and Performance

The iM is front-wheel drive and is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 137 horsepower and 126 pound-feet of torque. This small car has a precise steering system and offers an agile handling experience, even when traveling on curvy back roads. It is also fuel-efficient, with EPA ratings of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission, and 28 miles per gallon in the city and 36 mpg on the highway with the CVT.

Safety Features

One of the big reasons to love the iM is its advanced safety system that comes standard. Toyota’s Safety Sense-C suite of driver-assist features includes automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The iM also comes standard with a rearview camera. In crash tests, the iM received the highest score in both overlap front and side tests.

The Interior and Exterior

The iM’s cabin is comfortable and functional. Controls for the climate and audio are easy to use, and the front bucket seats adjust six different ways to help you find just the right driving position. Dual-zone automatic climate control is also standard, along with a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. There are also plenty of storage bins throughout the cabin, and the back has 0.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up. The rear seats have a 60/40 split, so you can customize the amount of cargo and passenger space, and can also lie flat.

The exterior design features a sweeping roofline, LED running lights, and LED taillights. Toyota offers a larger rear spoiler as an option, and you can also add the Racing Development package for some additional exterior accents, and get a key fob with a feature that helps you find your keys if you lose them.

The Technology

A 7-inch touch screen display comes standard and is one of the largest in its class. This compact car comes with Bluetooth, a Pioneer stereo system, a USB port, and the Aha radio app. Navigation is available as one of the few available options.

The 2017 Toyota Corolla iM might come in a small package, but there is a lot to love about it. If you don’t want the hassle of choosing a trim level and want a hatchback with a sleek look, the iM is an excellent choice.
