Toyota Hybrids in Alcoa, TNThe Toyota Camry and Avalon are both great sedan choices. Consider a few of the biggest differences between the two so you can buy the one that best meets your driving needs.

Exterior Design

Because both the 2019 Camry and the Avalon fall into the sedan category, you can expect many similarities when it comes to the exterior design. Both are designed with optimal functionality in mind. The exterior design paired with the diffuser and front bumper use aerodynamics to improve the efficiency and excitement of the drive. The Camry features a lengthened stance with a subtle front grille. Camry drivers can choose from an available 10 exterior colors.

The Avalon is slightly longer with a more refined grille and stretched LED headlights. Avalon drivers can choose from an available eight exterior colors. Both offer three trim levels including a hybrid option. Avalon drivers can also opt for a moonroof with upgraded trim levels. Toyota drivers have the option to upgrade to a panoramic moonroof.

Interior Features

There are a few minor differences between the interior features of the Camry and the Avalon. Because the Camry falls into the midsize category and the Avalon is a full-size sedan, you can expect slightly more interior space with the Avalon. While you can fit the same number of passengers, the increased size of the Avalon will allow your passengers to stretch their legs more. The Avalon offers 16.09 cubic feet of cargo space versus 15.1 cubic feet in the Camry.

The same interior technological features are available on both sedans, but the Avalon comes with more features on the standard trim level. The base Avalon comes with an Entune 3.0 driver infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and a heated driver’s seat. The base model of the Camry comes with a 4.2-inch multi-information display and LED lighting. Both options have available upgrades.

Power Capabilities

There are also a few differences among power capabilities in the two sedans. The 2019 Avalon comes equipped with a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine while the 2019 Camry comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Upgrade either the Camry or the Avalon to the hybrid drivetrain for a lightweight engine with Sequential Shiftmatic shifting and compact battery size.

Safety Features

Both the Camry and the Avalon are proudly designed by Toyota, making them both a safe choice. Toyota has created a reputation for its long list of standard and available safety features. Toyota Safety sense is standard on the Avalon and the Camry and includes a pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, and automatic high beams. Both options also come with the Star Safety System and access to the ToyotaCare program.

Available safety features include a blind spot with rear cross-traffic alert, Toyota smart key, a rear back up camera, a bird’s-eye view camera with perimeter scan, and adaptive cornering lights.

Whether you are in the market for your commuting car or you are planning a road trip, both the Avalon and the Camry are sure to meet your needs. Come by Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota today to check out these differences in person.
