2020 Toyota RAV4In 2019, Toyota redesigned the long-running RAV4. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 takes the previous year’s innovations and adds more technology and comfort. Now standard in every RAV4 is a seven-inch touch screen on the dash, along with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Sirius XM, and Amazon Alexa. However, this year the RAV4 has six distinct trims, each with a selection of features and capabilities that set the RAV4 apart from the competition, including Toyota’s comprehensive suite of safety features.

2020 Toyota RAV4 LE

The LE sets the standard for all 2020 models with a roomy interior capable of seating five, plenty of cargo space. Powered by a 203 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, the RAV4 can tow up to 1,500 pounds with 184 pound-feet of torque. Most impressively, the vehicle runs an average of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 35 on the highway.

RAV4 XLE

A short step up from the LE, the XLE features a few extra options, including automatic headlights and fog lights, alloy wheels, powered driver’s seat, smart key entry, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate controls for maximum comfort.

RAV4 XLE Premium

Including all of the added features of the XLE, the XLE Premium adds a touch of luxury with SofTex synthetic leather upholstery, a power liftgate, and a moon roof for stargazing when parked.

RAV4 Adventure

Geared toward a different breed of driver, the Adventure boasts a more aggressive body style with high-rise roof rails, large over-fenders, redesigned bumpers and grille, fog lights, and 8.6-inch ground clearance. The Adventure has all of the interior features of the LE and XLE with a slightly larger touch screen, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. While sharing the same engine and transmission with other models, the Adventure boasts an all-wheel-drive system for off-road fun.

TRD Off-Road

Building off the Adventure, the TRD Off-Road takes inspiration from Toyota’s off-road racing history by adding rally-style suspension, wheels, and tires engineered to take on the rugged backcountry. This model’s standard features include Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with Driveline Disconnect, a full suite of off-road handling technologies, and an increased towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

RAV4 Limited

The gold standard of the 2020 Toyota RAV4, the Limited comes equipped with all of the features of the LE and XLE and comes with the addition of heated seats, dashboard navigation, and performance tires, all-wheel-drive. Features standard to the Adventure and TRD Off-Road, including fog lamps and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, are optional additions.

While the price may play a factor, choosing which RAV4 is right for you ultimately comes down to your needs and wants in your next vehicle. If you want a balance between price, connectivity, and comfort for long drives, consider the XLE Premium. If you want to take your RAV4 off the beaten path, the TRD Off-Road is ideal for an off-road experience. Rest assured, there’s a RAV4 for you.
