About ToyotaCare in Alcoa, TNToyota is a brand known for its excellent resale value. This is due to its stellar reputation for reliability and durability. To ensure your Toyota continues to give you years of good service, Toyota offers after-sale support in the way of maintenance. To keep your Toyota in tip-top condition, take advantage of Toyota’s maintenance services and keep up with some general care.

Join ToyotaCare

When you buy a new Toyota, you join the ToyotaCare program. This is Toyota’s no cost maintenance plan that comes with the purchase or lease of every new Toyota. The plan covers two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. By joining ToyotaCare, you are assured that only genuine Toyota parts are used and only factory-trained Toyota technicians work on your car.

ToyotaCare includes:

  • Replacing engine oil and oil filter.
  • Rotating tires.
  • Multi-point vehicle inspection.
  • Inspecting and adjusting fluid levels.

Once the ToyotaCare period expires, servicing and fixing your Toyota won’t cost an arm and a leg. The average repair and maintenance cost for a Toyota is between $377 and $461. This makes Toyotas one of the least expensive cars to maintain.

Stick to Scheduled Services

When life is busy, it’s easy to forget or overlook servicing your car with everything else on your plate. Make sure you don’t skip scheduled services, though. Regular services keep your car performing at an optimal level and make sure it remains safe on the roads. Toyota recommends a tune-up every six months or 5,000 miles. Check your owner’s guide or call your local dealer to find out when your scheduled services are.

Standard maintenance involves checking and replacing parts like spark plugs, wires, and timing belts. Toyota technicians will also check and replace other parts to make sure your vehicle continues to run efficiently and safely. Keeping an up-to-date service history also increases the resale value of the car.

Access to Roadside Assistance

Included in your ToyotaCare plan is a 24-hour roadside assistance service. Roadside assistance on ToyotaCare is also valid for two years and with unlimited miles. Roadside assistance includes:

  • Battery jump-starts.
  • Lockout protection.
  • Emergency fuel delivery.
  • Tire service.
  • Towing to the nearest Toyota dealership.
  • Winching — extrication from any ditch, mud, sand or snow.

Requesting roadside assistance is easy with the Toyota Owner’s App that you can download on your phone.

Keep a Clean Car

Taking care of your car includes keeping it in good condition not only mechanically, but also physically. Keep your car clean by washing it regularly. Dirt and pollutants like tree sap, mud, soot, and bird droppings can ruin your car’s paint. Wax and polish it three to four times a year. Don’t use can hand soap or dishwashing liquid when washing as it will strip off the protective wax. When it comes to cleaning the interior, avoid cleaning products that include kerosene, alcohol, and acidic solutions. These chemicals can discolor, stain, or cause surfaces to peel.

Toyotas hold up well under normal wear and tear conditions better than most cars. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep your hand on your car. Taking extra care of your Toyota will give you many years of pleasant and reliable driving.
