Drivers who love an SUV with excellent performance and advanced driver-assist features will want to consider the 2023 Toyota RAV4. This vehicle offers drivers a spacious interior and advanced technology.

Performance

The standard 2023 model comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. It delivers 203 horsepower and 184 pounds-foot of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available. This engine achieves 27 miles to the gallon in the city and 35+ miles to the gallon on the highway.

Alternatively, this model also has the Hybrid XSE trim, with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine. It has an electric on-demand all-wheel drive and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The XSE delivers 219 combined net horsepower. It achieves 41 miles to the gallon in the city and 38 miles to the gallon on the highway.

Driver Assist Features

One of the ways Toyota has made this model stand out is by adding a great deal of driver-assist features. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard with features like automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. There’s also a lane-keeping assist, a lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

Road sign assist is a new and interesting assist feature available from Toyota. It uses a camera to read the road signs as you drive past them. The information on speed limit signs or stop signs will appear as icons on your multi-information display.

Infotainment

The entry-level model for 2023 comes with an impressive 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. It also comes with a three-month platinum plan trial subscription to SiriusXM. The 2023 model also comes with Toyota’s upgraded infotainment system with wireless updates. The gauge cluster is a 7.0-inch display in the standard model.

In the higher trim levels, you will enjoy a 10.5-inch upgraded touchscreen. The gauge display can also be upgraded to a 12.3-inch display.

Sound System

There is an option to upgrade to a JBL Premium Audio System for the upper trim levels. This sound system is a next-generation model, with 11 speakers placed in nine locations around the SUV for maximum sound quality. It uses 800 watts of power. It includes front horn tweeters and a subwoofer.

Spacious

Toyota has made this a spacious SUV. There are 40 inches of space behind the rear seat. There is a cargo minimum width of 39.4 inches and 34.5 inches tall. There is a cargo maximum width, with the seats folded, of 59 inches wide and 36.6 inches tall.

For a better idea of the space, you could fit 22 carry-on bags with the seats folded down. With the seats in use, you could still fit 10 carry-on bags in the cargo area.
