2017 Toyota Prius Two in Alcoa, TNThe Toyota Prius is a four-door hatchback vehicle with room for five passengers. It comes in six different trim levels starting with the Prius Two, and then the Two Eco which is the most fuel-efficient of all the trims. These two base level trims still offer drivers many standard features with additional optional features for those who want to customize. Here are some of the differences between the 2017 Prius Two and the 2017 Prius Two Eco.

Exterior

Both models come with 15-inch alloy wheels, but the Prius Two Eco has special resistance tires to help make it more efficient as well as two-toned wheel covers. Both have automatic LED headlights and LED running lights and tail lights. An added extra on the Two that is not available on the Eco is an intermittent rear wiper. The Two also has a color-keyed roof-mounted shark-fin antenna.

Powertrain

Both models come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive. This system uses a pair of electric motors that delivers up to 121 horsepower. When the driver uses the brake, it turns one of the motors into a generator that charges the battery. They also have a CVT. The lithium-ion battery in the Eco is lighter than the one in the Two, which helps make it more efficient. In the Eco, you can expect to get 58 miles per gallon in city driving and 53 miles per gallon on the highway. The Two will get you 54 miles per gallon in city driving and 50 mpg on the highway.

Technology

The media and technology systems are similar in both models. You’ll get a 6.1-inch touchscreen display complete with Bluetooth phone and audio and voice recognition. They also come with Siri Eyes free so you can keep your hands one the wheel, and there is a six-speaker stereo system along with a USB port.

Interior

Inside, the Two and the Two Eco look very similar. One difference is the Two comes with a cargo area tonneau cover which is not available on the Eco. In the Eco, instead of a spare tire, you’ll get an inflation kit, and the keyless entry system is illuminated to make it easier to see. On the driver’s side, there are dual 4.2-inch driver information screens that display important information about the vehicle, and both models also come with an auxiliary jack.

Safety

Both models come with antilock disc brakes and stability and traction control. There are also front-side airbags and side curtain airbags that run the length of the vehicle. A rearview mirror is standard in both the Two and the Two Eco along with Toyota’s Safety Sense systems. This includes forward collision warning and mitigation with automatic braking, lane departure warning and intervention, and automatic high beams.

The Prius Two and Prius Two Eco have many of the same features. The big difference is the lighter battery in the Eco and the low-rolling-resistance tires to help increase the gas mileage in the Eco.
