1. Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook

The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook takes you on an hour-long drive, in which you get to see plenty of the natural beauty in rural Tennessee. The route is located on the Gatlinburg Bypass and covers parts of the Great Smoky Mountains. Make sure you bring your camera with you so that you can document all the beauty and splendor around you!

2. The Snake

Everyone loves a good road trip. It gives you the chance to explore the world and experience the natural world. The Snake in Tennessee is an excellent option if you’re looking for more breathtaking scenery. It’s a twisting and curving road that takes you through three different mountains and a valley!

With over 500 curves, you also won’t be driving in a straight line very often while traveling along the Snake. What’s even crazier is that the entire route is compressed into just a 32-mile drive! The Snake is also a favorite among motorcyclists because it offers a safe, fun, and super mellow experience.

3. Cherohala Skyway

The Cherohala Skyway isn’t just one of the most scenic places in Tennessee – it’s one of the most beautiful natural settings in the U.S. The 43-mile route takes you on an adventure through lush verdure and forests. You get to see mountains, lakes, and many other cornerstones of nature.

The name “Cherohala” comes from the names of two different Indian tribes (Cherokee and Nantahala). The route is located in southeast Tenessee and about 90 miles from Nashville. Near the Cherohala Skyway is also the Ocoee River Gorge, which is where visitors often go swimming and kayaking.

4. Cades Cove Loop

Cades Cove Loop is also one of the quintessential drives through beautiful scenery in Tennessee. You’re surrounded by the mountains, and wildlife is all around you. Some of the animals in the area include black bears, spotted deer, coyotes, and more.
