The 2019 Toyota Camry is the latest iteration of the popular vehicle in the automaker’s line up. After a refresh last year, Camry carries through all of those features and a few new ones too. If your future Camry will be taking kids along, here are a few reasons why they’ll love it just as much as you.
Apple CarPlay
Apple CarPlay is usually just a nice amenity to have in a vehicle. But as far as kid-friendly features go for the Camry, this is one of the best. Apple CarPlay is new for the 2019 Camry and it is compatible with iPhone 5 and up. There are apps like Radio Disney, Audible, Sirius, Spotify and so forth that work with it. Radio Disney is the only one specifically for children and your child can watch video clips on the phone in that app while it’s connected. Other apps like Audible and Sirius do have family-friendly content, making CarPlay a good entertainment option.
Comfort
Camry is a comfortable car to ride in that keeps kids happy during long trips and is good for a nap on longer journeys. Kids who are old enough to ride in the front passenger seat will enjoy the fact that it’s a power seat so they can adjust it to maximize their own comfort. on trims higher than the L and LE. Kids who sit in the back will appreciate the backbench seating too. While tall adults might not like the back seats, kids will have no problem in terms of legroom and general comfort.
The standard upholstery is a grippy cloth fabric on the base trim. Higher trims upgrade the seats to synthetic leather or real leather on the top trims. This enhances comfort for children but consider using seat protectors or protectant products just in case back seat fun results in an accidental mess. Besides sitting in comfort, kids will actually enjoy ventilated seats in hot weather. There’s also 14.1-15.1 cubic feet of storage for hauling your child’s gear around depending on the trim and some small item storage which is useful for in-car toys and such.
Safety
While safety features aren’t technically things kids will love, Camry’s safety features will give you the confidence that your kids are safe while you’re on the road. To start, the 2019 Camry is one of the most highly rated new cars. It is an IIHS Top Safety Pick + and received a five-star rating from NHTSA. Active lane control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control are all standard features. Blind-spot monitors are optional for some trims. Add the Driver Assistance package for a surround-view camera system and rear cross-traffic alerts.
The 2019 Toyota Camry is the coolest family-friendly sedan, thanks in part to its recent refresh.
