4runningDuring the exciting and feature-filled Chicago Auto Show, group VP and general manager of the Toyota Division at Toyota Motor North America Jack Hollis claimed offhand that “every 4Runner is fitted with a new instrument panel.” The current generation 4Runner has been in production since 2009, and now features just one engine worldwide. Fans on the Jalopnik forum are hungry for a new engine, and many Toyota lovers right here at Rick McGill wonder if a diesel possibility could be looming on the horizon.

Motor1.com claimed on their blog that the “current gen is pleasantly all muscle,” and that the edgy lines and aggressive face still look awesome, especially in the TRD trim. Driver and passenger get 41.7 inches of legroom, coming in above the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon by a precious half an inch. Behind the second row, you’ll find 46.3 inches and 88.8 cubic feet, with the second row folded flat. The 6.1-inch touchscreen features navigation available on SR5 Premium and above, and Bluetooth connectivity potential as well as an option for an upgraded JBL audio system.

Off-road grip is the area where the 4Runner really slays: the TRD Off-Road features the part-time four-wheel-drive system as standard. There is also a two-speed transfer case with a locking rear differential for off-road use, and at 17 mpg city and 21 highway, the 4.0-liter V6 is not as thirsty as some would perceive. Six paint colors and the faux leather Softex interior come standard, and many other options are available to spice up your time spent driving the 4Runner. Talk to us here on the lot about awesome additions such as a moonroof, moonroof plus a sliding rear cargo deck with under-floor storage, a dynamic suspension system, or a dynamic suspension system with the power moonroof and under-floor storage included.

Some of our valued customers here that have purchased the 4Runner have told us that upgrading to the upper-level 17-inch TRD wheels, two-in-one LED fog lights, and crossbars for the ultimate in off-road use have helped them get the most fun out of the car. The editors on staff at KBB.com claimed that the 2019 model Is a “Bona fide SUV all the way, with serious off-road capability, dependable muscle, and accommodations for seven.” Serious enthusiasts who have tried their skill in some of the most extreme locations such as Colorado and Utah will have a heyday off-roading here in Tennessee with a new 4Runner: the old-school body-on-frame construction is the secret ingredient that makes it tough and remarkably capable when you make your way happily off the main roads to trickier terrain!
